Salary/Position Classification: - $43,170-$48,300 annual - 40 hours per week - 100% Remote Work Availability: No - Hybrid Work Availability: No Purpose of Position: The medical coder understands and translates medical information and patient diagnoses into medical code using various classification systems. The medical coder will use proper coding to ensure accurate billing of claims. Duties & Responsibilities: Coding Healthcare Claims (75%) Process and Handle Insurance Claims and Referrals (25%) - Review patient records to verify and audit diagnoses and procedure codes submitted by provider - Utilize ICD-10 coding principles and coding guidelines to code visits, ensuring maximum reimbursement - Audit charges making sure proper billing procedures are followed - Perform coding and entering charge information into database - Complete billing processes - Filing of insurance claims - File, retrieve, and review Explanation of Benefits forms (EOB), remittances, correspondence, and claims.
