Job Title: Nurse Aide Department: OBGYN: Location: The Birthplace at Canton - Potsdam Hospital Hours Per Week: 22.5: Schedule: Variable days, 7.5 hour work shifts; 2 pm to 10pm and 10 pm to 6 am, every other weekend and holiday SUMMARY: The nurse aid works under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide direct patient care in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures and protocols. RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs and documents direct comprehensive, family and patient centered care under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff. Provides world class customer service to patients and families. Reports patient conditions directly to licensed nursing staff to achieve positive patient outcomes. Maintains a safe and clean patient and family centered environment. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent American Heart Association Basic Life Saving Certification (AHA BLS) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Evidence of successful completion of a nurse aide training course at hire and previous experience as a nurse aide.
