This working hands-on Foreman position plans, directs and supervises grounds staff to complete cemetery care work assignments ensuring compliance with regulations and safety and ensuring cemetery services exceed customer expectations. Responsible for training and motivating the team. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Organizes and supervises the work of the grounds staff which includes: laying out grave sites and preparing them for burials, setting memorials and markers, performing lawn maintenance such as mowing, trimming, planting and snow removal, collecting trash or other debris from the grounds Implements work schedule and guides coworkers for grounds and landscaping Trains staff on cemetery maintenance and grounds keeping procedures, safety, and environmental regulations. Demonstrates proper operation of machinery and equipment. Recommends procedure revisions. Develops a strong, trusting, and reliable team. Understands team members career aspirations and provide assignments to develop skills and close gaps.
