JOB SUMMARY: The Foundry Technician is responsible for executing a range of tasks involved in the metal casting process, including core making, mold preparation, melting, pouring, shakeout, and surface finishing. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality castings through precision, safety, and collaboration in a manufacturing environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Perform daily operations in one or more of the following casting functions: - Core making - form the internal surfaces of castings. - Mold making - form the external surfaces of castings. - Mold closing - assemble cores and molds into complete mold assemblies. - Melting - prepare molten metal from scrap steel/raw materials, adjust chemistry and temperature. - Pouring - transfer molten metal into mold cavities. - Shakeout - remove core and mold sand from castings and reclaim sand. - Casting cleaning - remove gates, risers, fins, and surface defects; abrasive blast surfaces; inspect and repair castings. - Operate equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and loaders as required. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area. - Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. - Perform ot...
