Future. Discover. Together.
Job description
Future. Discover. Together. Access networks of the future rely on fiber optic connections right into buildings (fiber to the home, FttH). The fiber optic network is designed as a passive system with an aggregate data rate of up to 50 Gbit/s. Current research is already working on the next generation of these access networks, which should enable transmission rates of up to 200 Gbit/s. At the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI), the PONGO project is investigating various aspects of such future systems. The focus is on developing cost-efficient and at the same time powerful solutions. Comprehensive simulations and experimental validations in the laboratory are planned in order to systematically analyze and evaluate the performance, scalability, and efficiency of the concept. Become part of our team and join us on our journey of research and innovation! Be part of change: - Participation in the development of an optical connection network for buildings - Simulation of a system model in MATLAB and VPItransmissionMaker - Experimental setup in the laboratory and characterization of the system - Documentation and evaluation of the experimental result...
