PPU are recruiting Police Staff Investigating Officers to work within a dedicated and expanding Post Charge Investigation Team (PCIT), within the Adult Abuse team in the Public Protection Unit, supporting the progression of domestic abuse cases through to court. This role is central to improving case progression and bringing offenders to justice while delivering the best possible outcome for victims. The role requires well organised and professional individuals with an ability to manage risk, develop investigations, work to deadlines and work closely with internal and external partners. The Police Staff Investigating officer role will work and be aligned within the core file build team based at two locations (Wednesfield and Lloyd House), however there is an expectation for officers to travel across the force to complete investigative actions, gathering and securing evidence to support criminal investigations into the court process. This is to support all the adult investigation teams based at Perry Barr, Oldbury and Coventry.
