SUMMARY: Monitors the daily operations of the department and staff. STATUS: Full Time: LOCATION: Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab-Midtown DEPARTMENT: Outpatient Physical Therapy: SCHEDULE: Day shift, 40-hrs per week, 8hr. shifts 7:30 am - 4 pm. Two later evenings (10 am - 6:30 pm). No weekend requirements RESPONSIBILITIES: - Functions as a role model for staff in terms of patient assessment, treatment, and discharge planning. - Maintains, on a daily basis, an adequate case load to meet the needs of the department, monitors daily activity and scheduling of patients to assure optimal and safe use of staff, space, and equipment. Collaborates with all divisions of PM & R regarding resource utilization. - Actively participates in the interview and hiring process, is accountable for staff orientation and mandatory in-service education, conducts performance evaluations, and assists with disciplinary action in accordance with health system policy. - Facilitates and coordinates the development, updating, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures, as well as assists with intra- and interdepartmental quality improvement and care management initiatives.
