About the job National Highways have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our Lighting and Electrical team in the Midlands, to be based from either of our Birmingham or Nottingham office with a mix of on-site / office / home working. Please be advised that you will be expected to travel to the Nottingham office for approximately 40% of your working hours. The team is responsible for the asset management of over 43,000 street lighting and electrical assets within the region. This includes everything including feeder pillars with the incoming public electricity supply, lighting columns and lanterns, illuminated signs and bollards and subways via a private cable network. Within this role, you will be developing feasibility studies and preliminary designs for improvements and/or renewals, including the compiling and checking of relevant documents, evidence and options for value management, taking into account new techniques, materials, buildability, and costs.
