Job description

Accountable for the direct and indirect care for infants and women both in the inpatient or outpatient clinic setting. Develops feeding plans to address the nutritional needs of the infant that may include but is not limited to breastfeeding support, breast pumping support, and supplementation as appropriate. Provides lactation support and education to inpatients. Provides lactation support and education as directed by referral in the outpatient clinic setting after discharge. Performs all duties in a manner that supports team concept caring and respect reflecting the philosophy of the Department of nursing and the Sisters of Providence Mission. For In-patient nurse: working seamlessly in multiple inpatient departments. Recognizing and delivering appropriate evidence based care during the different phases of their hospital/clinic experience. Timely documentation/communication of patient encounters either inpatient or outpatient so that continuity of care can be achieved within time constraints.
