Summary: This job exists to ensure efficient operation of all boiler equipment in the plant. This includes maintenance, sanitation, troubleshooting and repair of all mechanical components. The individual in this job will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the boiler area throughout the plant and have the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates. The boiler mechanic is a member of the maintenance team, which includes wet end mechanics, packaging mechanics, electricians, process control technicians, grounds waste disposal attendants, team leaders, area supervisors, and the department manager.
