Lab Technician - Gulfport

Job description

The laboratory technician will be responsible for working with a team to accurately and consistently test construction materials related to asphalt mixes in a timely manner. This will involve the breakdown of road and quarry material, batching and producing specimens, testing specimens, analyzing data, and problem solving. QUALIFICATIONS: - Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task - Follow all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. - Always observe safe work practices - Follow quality control guidelines and industry approved testing and preparation standards - Record and organize information from a variety of sources accurately - Communicate effectively with all members of the mix design team, D.O.T. personnel, and personnel from various agencies - Obtain state D.O.T., county, city, etc. materials and testing standards in a timely manner - Collect samples from existing roads, quarries, and plant locations for evaluation - Use a variety of heavy-duty saws and drills to effectively prepare road samples - Prepare and test specimens according to...
