Duties may include, enforcing ordinances, ensuring rabies control, and perform educational programs regarding animal control and protecting the public from problem animals. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Officers respond to citizen complaints of stray, vicious, sick, injured or diseased animals. Works with authorities on various animals impound needs, issues citations, and provide courtroom testimony. Monitors and ensures all animals are in good health, cages are disinfected and clean, and the animals are properly fed, watered and proper medication is given if needed. Investigates cruelty and abandonment of domestic animals and livestock and ensures all records are in order for animals being held as evidence for court.
