Job description

We’re searching for a Triage Staff Nurse, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you’ll provide nursing care for patients over the telephone utilizing the nursing process in accordance with the current American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing (AAACN) Telehealth Nursing Practice Administration and Practice Standards. Job Duties & Responsibilities: - Manages clinical calls using the nursing process - Listens actively, intently, and for a sufficient length of time - Demonstrates initiative and a systematic approach to interviewing and history taking - Documents significant data - Gathers quantitative and qualitative data - Tasks are measured by observation of the evaluator, feedback of the provider, and review of the electronic health record - Demonstrates critical thinking skills in assessing the relevant needs of the caller - Systematically assesses and addresses patients’ needs with decision support tools - Elicits the reason for the call (such as the chief complaint) - Quickly identifies emergent signs and symptoms - Obtains history of symptoms, associated symptoms, and allergies - Determines priorities - Provides care...
