Job summary: Under the direction of the Director of Care or designate, the Nurse co-ordinates, implements and evaluates multi-disciplinary care and programs. Ensures quality of living standards for all residents. Provides leadership to care staff in achieving planned individualized care and completion of other responsibilities. Functions as a senior member of the health care team with job responsibilities as per the job description. The nurse provides work direction on the unit, or may be assigned as “Nurse In Charge” for the Care Home. DUTIES: - Responsibilities include working with the care team to assess, plan, implement and monitor residents’ safety. - Participates in the delivery of individualized resident care through assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating. Performs direct resident care such as administration of medications, application of treatments and performance of resident assessments. - Prepares, maintains and updates appropriate resident records such as nursing assessment records, resident care plans, medication administration records and Progress Notes.
