Job description

Performs skilled tasks in repairing and maintaining all facility equipment, construction type tracked or wheeled, gasoline or diesel driven equipment within the guidelines of departmental standards and procedures, verbal instructions, and manufacturers’ guidance. Reports to the Fleet Maintenance Manager, Fire, or other designated person, works with other departmental employees and the customer to provide maintenance support. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Performs tasks in repairing and maintaining construction type tracked or wheeled gasoline or diesel driven equipment. Performs comprehensive preventative maintenance inspections and daily fueling and greasing of equipment. Perform test to include drive train, engine operations, transmissions, suspension, steering, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC. Utilize diagnostic tools, determine corrective measures in a timely fashion. - Assists in conducting, testing, and documenting all repair work. Assists in responding to road calls for equipment failures. Complete apparatus and vehicle checks, diagnosis, and repairs of both scheduled and non-scheduled repairs. Complete work orders.
