Job description

Job Function 01: Develops an action plan and coordinates new employee orientation in conjunction with the Nursing Education department. Develops mechanisms for documentation of initial competencies achieved and sets individualized time frames for accomplishment. Provides orientation goals and strategies to orientee and preceptor. Acts as a resource in providing theory and supervised practice during training and orientation of all new staff. Utilizes adult learning theories to implement action plan strategies. Participates in the assessment of permanent and temporary employees. Develops and facilitates clinical orientation of all new hires with the development of goals and resolution of performance problems with collaboration from service line coordinators when applicable. Mentors and monitors progress of new employees in theory and supervised practice in response to selected development needs. Job Function 02: Provides ongoing development/continuing education. Collaborates with manager, peers, and coordinators to establish initial and ongoing developmental mandatories and competencies.
