Company: Allegheny Health Network Job Description: GENERAL OVERVIEW: Conducts evaluations of hearing and recommends treatment to improve or conserve hearing ability. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum - Identify, test, diagnose and manage disorders of human hearing, balance, tinnitus; interpret results of behavioral and objective measures. (40%) - Counsel patients about hearing health and the possible need for treatment/management. (10%) - Assess the candidacy of persons with hearing loss for hearing aids and provide fitting, programming, and audiologic rehabilitation to ensure the best possible outcomes. (20%) - Perform assessment and nonmedical management of tinnitus. (20%) - Counsel and educate patients and families/caregivers on the psychosocial adjustments of hearing loss.
