Senior Geotechnical & Tunneling Engineer

Job description

STV is seeking a Senior Geotechnical & Tunneling Engineer in our Boston, MA Office to join our center of excellence division. This role will support and lead complex geotechnical and underground infrastructure projects nationally, including large scale transit, rail and water tunneling programs. Key Responsibilities will include: Perform geotechnical and tunnel engineering analyses and design for underground infrastructure projects including tunnels, shafts, caverns, and support of excavation systems. Develop designs for rock and soil tunnel support systems using analytical, empirical, and numerical modeling methods. Conduct geotechnical evaluations for deep foundations, earth retention systems, slopes, and underground structures. Prepare technical deliverables including geotechnical data reports, geotechnical interpretive reports, geotechnical baseline reports, and design reports. Develop and implement geotechnical subsurface investigation programs including drilling, sampling, and laboratory testing plans.
