Job description

The Iron Worker is responsible for all of the duties listed, but not limited to the following: raise, place, and unite iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to form completed structures or structural frameworks; may erect metal storage tanks and assemble prefabricated metal buildings. Required Tasks: - Coordinate, schedule, train and assign work to Iron Worker Apprentices. - Direct and design layout and fabrication of ornamental iron work - Read specifications or blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, or sizes of materials required. - Analyze defects and makes repairs to all steel, aluminum and metal equipment stairs, doors, jail doors, ramps, and ladders - Assemble all components of boilers using hand tools, power tools, or welding equipment. - Install and maintenance of steel roll up, overhead and garage doors. - Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
