Job Summary: A diagnostic medical sonographer is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography to the radiologist. The Sonographer is responsible for daily operations of the ultrasound laboratory. Reports to: Manager, Diagnostic Imaging: Hourly range : $34.02 - $57.98 (posted hourly range excludes overtime and bonuses which are not guaranteed) Essential Job Functions: - Obtains and is able to integrate relevant patient history, laboratory results and previous radiology exam results for ordered exam, or request order change for accurate sonogram to be performed. - Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care. - Able to effectively operate the ultrasound machine to optimize images and adheres to department exam protocols. - Able to evaluate sonograms in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic - Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings. - Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information of obtained so...
