Essential Duties and Responsibilities Patient Care: - Prepare patient for examination by recording vitals, medical history, and chief complaint. - Administer injections, medications, vaccines, and IVs as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure. - Perform laboratory tests (including point-of-care phlebotomy, specimen collection, and diagnostic tests) as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure. - Communicate test results, follow-up instructions, and address patient questions and concerns in a timely manner according to clinic policy. - Under the supervision the psychiatric provider, meets with patients for medication management. - Assures patient understanding of appropriate educational materials regarding medications, diagnosis, and treatment plan. - Meets with patients in a crisis or urgent situation until psychiatric provider is able to evaluate them. - Uses restraints safely and according to hospital policy. - Conducts groups on anxiety, grief, stress, etc. - Respond to emergency medical situations in an urgent manner and perform on the spot emergency assistance which may include first aid and/or CPR.
