This individual will be a faculty member in the Department of Anesthesiology and will report directly to the Vice Chairman, or his designee. This individual will be an expert on translational development of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) based therapeutics for treating serious chronic neurological disorders. A focus on nonopioid chronic pain therapeutics research and therapeutic candidate development are highly preferred. The hiring rank will be based on experience and current/past level of research funding. The individual job description will include the following: Develop competitive research projects and design and submit timely competitive research-oriented grants and contracts to funding agencies.
