Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION: This individual is responsible for performing basic x-rays and maintaining the equipment. They also function as a medical assistant working with a Provider in delivering primary medical care. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Radiological Responsibilities: - Prepares patient for x-ray (assesses patient for pregnancy, internal foreign objects and any health condition that may be a contraindication to x-rays. Notify PCP of any abnormal findings) - Position appropriately and as comfortably as possible - Answer all patient questions before continuing with x-ray - Develop x-ray film - Display film on light board for PCP to view - Maintain x-ray and darkroom - Orders and maintains necessary supplies to adequately stock x-ray room - Maintains filing system of all x-rays taken - Wears radiation badge at all times - Informs Coordinator immediately if High Risk exposure occurs - Badge is to be sent in quarterly for service - Maintain personal certification.
