FLSA Classification: Nonexempt: Reports to : Youth Programs Director Summary/objective: Lead, mentor, and supervise elementary to middle school campers. Must be able to commit to the summer camp season (May 25 - August 7). Essential functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. - Assists Summer Camp Counselor with group of assigned children - Supervise and interact with children in a style to promote educationally and developmentally-stimulating programs and activities - Communicate with children using a style that builds relationships and promotes teamwork - Promote the safety and security of all children at all times - Ensure group rotations happen smoothly and effectively - Maintain visual presence during work shifts and be responsible for assigned areas - Communicate program policies and expectations to students and/or parents to ensure a high level of safety and service at all times - Maintain supervision appropriate to student-to-counselor ratios and alwa...
